Coats

Join one of our existing coat drives or start your own!

Make a difference and bless our neighbors in need by hosting a drive for Redwood Gospel Missions.

  • Coat drives are a great way to have a simple impact on your community.
  • Coats are given out at some of our outreach events including: The Great Thanksgiving Banquet, Christmas Celebration and Easter.
  • New and gently used coats are accepted. All sizes are welcomed, but the most requested sizes are XL-4XL.
  • Drives can take place anytime of the year.
  • Anyone can host a drive.
  • If coats are not given out at events, they may be given to our thrift stores. Our thrift stores provide clothing for our ministry and also sold to help support the ministries of Redwood Gospel Missions.

Thrift Items We are Unable to Accept

We are unable to process the following list of items due to environmental concerns, expensive landfill costs, our inability to make repairs or our inability to lift the item.

  • Window air conditioners, water heaters, water softeners
  • Built-in appliances or any appliance needing repair and/or with rust or mold
  • Gas appliances
  • Appliances must be clean and plugged in
  • Built-in bookcases or cabinets
  • Car batteries, used car parts, or tires
  • Chemicals of any kind, including paint or pesticides
  • Console TVs, console stereos, and TVs 24” wide or larger, Projection TVs
  • Large exercise equipment
  • Car Seats, Cribs—anything that could be a safety issue
  • Item that is ripped, worn, discolored, has stains/soiling, odors, tears, animal hair, scratches, peeling, cracking, rust, grease, weak springs or any structural damage which require repair
  • Pianos, organs
  • Single kitchen or dining chair
  • Glass top tables, unframed mirrors
  • Stuffed animals and pet toys
  • Large desks and/or hutches, computer desks, roll-top, wall units, entertainment centers
  • China cabinets
  • Sinks or toilets (commodes are OK)
  • Wall-to-wall carpet, padding, foam
  • Window blinds, draperies, or rods
  • Cassette tapes, VHS tapes (CDs, DVDs, are OK)
  • Printers
  • Mattresses/box springs
  • Beds, sofa beds
  • Electric bed frames
  • Bed pillows
  • Sewing machine cabinet without machine
  • Pre-installed light fixtures, fluorescent bulbs
  • Encyclopedia, magazines, textbooks
  • Other: disassembled or particle board furniture, incomplete items
  • Large holiday items “in season” only
  • Christmas items, including Christmas trees (IN BOX accepted Oct-Jan)
  • All small items need to be secured in boxes or bags
  • Please tie bags and do not overfill boxes

Breaking free from a life controlling issue isn’t easy.

Our New Life Program is for men and women who are ready to put their life controlling issues behind them and start a new life. With a focus on Jesus, you can be free.

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of Christ, in His birth through the Virgin Mary, in His sinless life, in His miracles,

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
